Fa temps que en Joan i la Marta s’han adonat que no van al mateix ritme. S’estimen, però es trepitgen quan ballen i la neurosi d’en Joan s’està a punt de carregar la seva relació. Empesos pel desig de
sincronitzar-se i portar un ritme de vida més tranquil, es traslladen al camp per prendre’s les coses amb més calma. Però quan les seves vides s’entrecreuen amb les de l’Òscar i l’Àgata, una parella de
joves científics que viuen a tota velocitat i acaben de fer un important descobriment, el senzill estil de vida que estaven buscant acabarà complicant-se.

 

Tortugues és una comèdia fantàstica que parla dels límits de la moral científica. És ètic experimentar amb humans si l'objectiu de l'experiment és la cura contra el càncer? La fi justifica els mitjants? Tortugues és també una història d'amor: Què arribariem a fer, per la persona enamorada? És possible compartir la nostra vida amb algú que va a un altre ritme?

For a long time now, Jon and Marta have noticed that they do not go at the same pace. They are in love, but they trip over one another when they dance and Jon's neurosis is about to implode their relationship. Impelled by a desire for synchronicity and a quieter pace of life, they move to the country to take things more calmly. But when their paths cross with Oscar and Agatha, a couple of young scientists who live at full speed and who have just made an important discovery, the simple lifestyle they were looking for will eventually become extremely complicated.

Turtles is a fantastic comedy that talks about the limits of scientific conduct. Is it ethical to experiment on humans if the objective of the experiment is the cure for cancer? Does the end justify the means? Turtles is also a love story: Just how far would we go for the person we love? Is it even possible to share our lives with someone who moves to a different beat?
